This article is not difficult,
Says my English teacher.
Most things use the article a
To show it is singular.


"a" is to show one
But for one orange you can't
Or one onion,"says my teacher"
With a little laughter


One orange needs an
To show it is one and singular
She stresses and explains,
But not for a shirt or a dress.


To show oneness we use an
Also for one elephant and
For one organ, and one island
We use and nothing but an.


My father says,"As for the
Which is one and singular
Is for a thing which is particular
Like the sun and the rain
Use the for things mentioned earlier
Or for things you are very sure


Articles need to be learnt.
As pupils we need to know
To show things that are singular
Use the articles a, an, the.
